Pauwm is the Ngari word for empty and has become the monika for the their ruling deity. The name of their god is yet to revealed. However, outsiders never seem to understand this so when pushed for a name they gloss their deity's names as the empty or the emptiness. The Ngari see the search for the name a quest among their coming of age men and women. If Ngari are see any distance away from the rift floor then you can hazard a guess that the youth is on a quest to find the name of Pauwm. This search though has its detractors among the community. Some Pauwm profess the opposite and argue that the true strength of their souls comes from embracing the emptiness not answering it. This debate, dominates many a late night drinking session in the tree cities of the Ngari.
