The dhwarves of today are known as the Peristi and live nomadic lives. Peristi avoid settling down and prefer an itinerant lifesysle moving from town to town along the north face of the Dyafice. Across the two kingdoms they are are still in demand, working the many mines of the north face and many provincial governments depend on their masonry skills for the construction and maintenace of fortifications, aqueducts, bridges and roads.
The Peristi predeliction for mobility harkens back to the last days of the Ancient Regime. Dhwarven lore tells of a past castrophe brought about by the insanity of an elven ruler who tried to draw down the divine into this world. In those days, the Peristi maintained strong ties with elvenfolk but now approach them and their crafts with trepidation and disdain.
